Glorantha Terrain (Not By Me)
« on: January 10, 2018, 11:02:16 AM »
Link

Jenx, artist for Prince of Sartar (great comic, has information about Glorantha underneath each comic), has been trying his hand at Glorantha terrain making for the past few months and I think he's done a really good job at it. He uploaded them to Imgur so I could link them here.

Wasn't sure where to post this, whether it's better here or Fantasy so I decided to chance it.

Those pieces are pretty good, although the sponge tree foliage and the visible layers on the rockface need some work.
The rock with the Idol head is very good.

That said, they look good!

Glorantha is a fantasy world.

True, but it's also:

"The Ancient World, real and imagined, from the Stone Age to the Fall of the Western Roman Empire"

But it isn't the imagined Ancient World. It is the product of one man's imagination entirely.

Glorantha is a very nice imaginary fantasy world, along the lines of Middle Earth, Westeros, the Forgotten Realms, Frostgrave, Arcana, Tékumel, etc. And just like posts relating to those other imaginary worlds, IMHO this thread properly belongs in the Fantasy Adventures forum.

Like I say, I was uncertain. If a mod wants to move it, I have no problem with that. :)

The pieces look great, especially the carved head.

Good stuff, but yes, a simple and quick drybrush of yellow on that green sponge foliage would add a lot to the visual appeal.  It would add depth and a more natural look.

Pretty good looking stuff, and his webcomic Is one of my favorites.

On a related note, GW is coming out with some Nurgle-themed fantasy terrain called a "Feculent Gnarlmaw" that would look very much at home in Snakepipe Hollow, Dorastor, or any other Chaos touched patch of Glorantha.

The terrain looks nice, though the foliage on the foam tree needs some work, as it has already been mentioned.
I’ve already added the webcomic to my markers, I’ve always been curious to the Glorantha setting and this seems a good introudction to it.
