Lovely work, mate.
Very smoothly done.

This foam brick thing will never catch on, though.
You would have to be absolutely mental to try and build anything bigger than this using this technique.
I mean seriously mental........

I'm watching you.......

And by 'watching' he means 'stalking'.

I know.
It is quite amusing to see him and Balaclava Boy trying to hide behind the same bush......

Thank you all for the kind comments.  :)

I find it quite relaxing, but only do it in short sessions (allowing the glue to dry) so it doesn't get tedious.
A round tower means a lot more work that straight walls, as each block is individually cut and sanded to fit.  I'm not sure I would attempt a whole castle....

And by 'watching' he means 'stalking'.
'Stalking' is not an adjective I would ascribe to James..... where would he hide?  :D

Coming along really nicely.

Meanwhile, back at the build.....

The top of the folly will be wider than the rest of the tower.  To achieve that I found a cardboard tube (from a roll of parcel tape) that fitted snugly over the Pringles tube.  A circle of foamed PVC (Sintra or similar) was cut for the floor and glued in place inside the roll.  A length of round balsa, cut to size and shape, was added to provide the basis for a small side tower with a door for access.  The plastic card door has been engraved to simulate wood.

Larger blocks are needed for the expansion in diameter: A ring of blue foam was cut to form the basis of the blocks, which will then be cut into individual blocks (already marked out for consistency of size) before each is glued in place.
