Konflikt '47 - Waffen SS ''Terror Squad''
« on: 15 January 2018, 12:52:25 AM »
So last year I went rather heavy into K'47 my first time dipping my toes into WWW2 but my enthusiasm dried up due to lack of local interest and I ended up going falling back into the comfortable world of Bolt Action.

Anyway while digging though some files on my laptop I found some pictures of the aborted project that I never posted here.

So here's my Waffen SS ''Terror Squad''

This Terror Squad is made up from members of the 33rd Waffen Grenadier Division of the SS Charlemagne (1st French).

Armed with a number of unsual weapons like the Gustloff VG 1-5 assault rifle, Krummlauf assault rifle (fires around corners!) &  Luftfaust hand-held anti-aircraft rocket launchers.

Thanks for looking, it's a shame I never carried on with these :-/

"Um actually". ;)

Its a Beretta Modello 38, which the SS had a preference for (with Italian pouches as well - that tarp on his bag's a rolled camo smock IIRC). Just so the models can be used for scenarios outside the fall of Berlin. About the only weapon there which didn't see use outside of that battle is the Luftfaust (though it is assumed that they were issued and used during the initial encirclement, not just in the street fighting).

I did the same with some of my set based on these, though went for the Nachtjager instead with a pair of the Luftfaust.

Aye good thing it's Weird War, so anything is possible in ''made up land'' so I don't have to worry what was used, when or what it was even called in real life to a degree :)

The joy of WWW2 :)

Thankies lads.

Thanks, they are all Warlord Games minis. Either from the Late War Waffen SS range or Last Levy box set with head replacements for those in Gasmasks.

Thanks I agree that while Gasmasks in the WWW2 setting is a rather common trope it does really look the part and I couldn't say no to doing a unit in this way.
