Pig Josh
« on: April 22, 2009, 03:45:33 PM »
Pig josh (for those not familiar with the idiot) is a sociopath nutter hired by Perry and his traveling circus to preform. his act, blowing himself up.
with the odd but helpfull protection of his hand boards pig josh can easily protect him self from the blast and survive.
when the circus went bust in the late 1800's he moved into freelance lunacy, moving around in one of the traveling circus carts with a bunch of the clown midget madmen.

he is a character from the video game
Read Dead revolver. but i can't find any images of him on the internet as my Google fu is very weak today.
BUT without further ado here is my conversion based on Pig Josh.

he is a black hat miniatures mini i think.

P.s did i mention his preferred explosive is dynamite.  ;D

I seem to recall young Sickers getting his hair off more than once when facing that fellow. His using those metal plates as a bullet-proof shield really ticked him off. And the fact that he kept blowing him up. Besides, he's mortally afeared of clowns, which ain't a good thing to be at that particular juncture of the game. End of level bosses, eh? Who bloody needs 'em?

Nice job. Look forward to see him painted up.

Have you considered the Horrorclix clowns?
Some nice sculpts, especially the 3 midget clowns in one big pair of trousers with a severed head.

(do you ever find yourself typing the strangest sentences? ;D)

Sets popping up on ebay quite cheap if you search hard enough.

Excellent conversion! The dynamite in his belt is very cool, as are the hand shields. Really nicely done! I've been looking for a model for a pugilist for my LOTOW games (he's one of the hired guns), and this might just work. He'd be big and scary enough to put people off attacking him, at least! Of course, he could be TOO big - how big is that model?

Black Hat, eh? I'll have to look into it.

Looking forward to seeing Pig Josh painted up!

as argonor said, about 28mm but very muscly, in other words he's the guy you'd say to a friend when walking past
"you wouldn't mess with him"

Well, at 28mm tall, he's half-way right in terms of scale, at least. The very muscly part - yes, that's an issue. But I like Wisecrack's take on it - I can imagine the other posse saying "You see him? I wouldn't mess with him".
Maybe it's too much for LOTOW, though. Maybe for a Pulp game? That's an idea.
Thanks for the feedback on the model's size, though - all useful.
And I still can't wait to see it painted!

he is in fact from a western video game so therefore i see him there  ;D i am trying to collect minis for all my favorite characters from the game. i have so far.
shadow wolf - Reds cousin
Jack swift - Reds accomplice
and now
pig josh - as above hehe
any how pictures.

for a forty minute paint job i'd go as far as to say im proud of the mini but not of camera even in perfect daylight.

here is a picture of Red,

i urgently need a mini for him, i just cant place ,my finger on one. not at least without spending £20 in foundry.

Excellent paint job on Pig Josh! Nice to see the model finished - and to see the original inspiration!

As for the model for Red, have you tried Artizan? There are a number of models in the Artizan Old West (Wild West?) range that would work perfectly, and since they come three to a blister, they cost less than a Foundry pack.

Hope this helps!

40 minutes... FORTY????  >:(

How the heck do you do that...???? I cannot manage a quick-and-dirty paintjob ( base colours + ink wash) in less than an hour - and that's without basing...  :( :'(
