Brilliant idea! And the minis are beautifully painted.

Great job all round - but you have to PLAY this. You can't just do them to look at (nice as they are to look at, and all).

Surely there must be a game system that will work for this idea. It's fantastic!

BTW - who makes the gate?

Phoenix Designs, available through Cold War Miniatures in the UK for the time being, but about to go OOP apparently. And it ain't cheap, either, although it is solid metal and large enough to comfortably fit the Minerva through, including flagpole.

Who makes your System Lord model ??

He's a Heresy Miniatures Dark Lord.

Thanks again for all your comments, but the fact is I don't have anyone to play against and much prefer painting anyway. The main reason I do anything is just to see if I can, to be honest.

I dunno though, Bullshott, if anyone is interested I can fetch them to this year's BLAM and let folks play with them. If you were thinking of having another VSF game, I'm sure they'd fit in somewhere.  :)

Cheers boss.

I'm sure we can scrape up a fair bit between us, I have a few bits myself that would surely work.

And as for continuing, well, we'll see. There are a few more bits I'd like to do, but I'm thinking of a superhero project next...

Well, for them that's interested, I managed to take some closer shots of some of the figs. Hope you like them.

First up is the SG team:

Then some individual shots of the Jaffa'a as you can't really make them out in the group photo:

And finally a scale pic for Bullshott since he was asking about the gate:

Because he'd never get those Martini-Henrys past the Scrutineering Committee. Royal Navy adopted Lee-Metfords in 1892. Even toddlers know that.

(Just kidding!  ;))

Bravo. Wonderful stuff. Truly stylish. Some figures in there I don't know. I really like the 1890s James Spader type and the lady with the sword. Where do they come from?
