Converting Empire of the Dead faction

I have been playing Empire of the Dead for some years now, but had a two year break from them. The rules are really bad so we have made quite a few alterations to them over the years.
 
I have owned IHMN since it was released but never played it. Right now I want to get back into playing Victorian Gothic Horror, and I want to use the IHMN rules. I prefer the gothic horror style over Victorian sci-fi, so I want to try and "convert" the existing factions from Empire of the Dead to IHMN.

Yesterday I bought IHMN Gothic, which has all the tools I need in order to make the conversions, but before I start I wanted to ask whether anyone else has done this?

indeed I have travelled down that road

we've found with IHMN the approach of  if you can justify it go for it. works best, and if i must say that is the best feature about IHMN
