Shortly after their Castle Grayskull, Icon Heroes went one better and released the whole of Snake Mountain as a polystone statue. Like the castle, this massive piece of scenery works well enough with 28-30mm figures and sports a glorious paintjob to boot.

30mm Skeletor in the center for scale:

The sides and back (tiny 30mm Skeletor for scale):

And a size comparison of the full Castle Grayskull set with Snake Mountain and the tiny He-Man and Skeletor figures:

Wow, what a great piece. I really like the spider mouth cave. I'd like to see dome more bird's eye view shots so I can get a better idea of the layout of the fortress.

Now you of course need a model version of the ridiculously large Eternia playset (the one that featured no less than three structures connected by a rail system).

Or at least Hordak's base "The Fright Zone" (had one as a kid, smaller than the other two bases but it came with a giant snake glove which was cool.

One of the essential minons of Skeletor's Evil Warriors, and yet somehow one of the few main characters I never had as a toy. Like with Skeletor, I went with a bright colour scheme, based on the Filmation look, while trying to embody the toy nature with an almost plastic look and feel. The miniature is another wonderful Boris Woloszyn sculpt released by Quest Miniatures. It's actually even more orange in the flesh, but for some reason all the pictures kept toning it down. The first picture is the closest to the actual skin tone.

Yes, I'm following his progress on facebook and his blog as well. We've been exchanging our painting and modeling experiences.  8)

Today's entry is not the most exciting one so far, but it is quite iconic in it's own right. The weapons rack came with Castle Grayskull and was rather faithfully reproduced in the 80's 25mm MOTU miniatures sets produced by Grenadier/Pinnacle Products. The sculpting on most of the miniatures is a bit dated, but the weapons rack works well enough and as the old figures were big for the time, the rack is suitably large to go with the more modern sculpts. I picked this to paint next because I hadn't much time and thought I could finish it quickly. It wasn't that quick.

Quick my beastly minion, take all their weapons!

Great threat. You really get the right color shade of the old cartoon series.
Wish there would be a distributor in good old germany.

What a great project, WK strikes again!
 :-* :-*

I loved He-Man as a nipper and this really does work perfectly for the zany and over the top look that the genre went for.
Great work!
 :-* :-*

Looking forward to seeing you add Man at Arms, my favourite of the toys alongside Beastman.
 :D

Perfect timing for me too, as I have only just started working on a MotU inspired fantasy project based around GW Stormcast. I shall be following this with much interest.
