« on: April 25, 2009, 12:19:42 PM »
I've finished the first phase of my Zulu War project, so I've added several shots of the new stuff to my Photo Gallery. Here's a taster or two ~

Planning for a game now to see how many more Zulus I need to paint..... lol

Zulus always look so impressive when they're done right, and yours have definitely been done right  :-* :-*
Maybe I'll move mine further up the list...

Glorious. Very inspiring.

I reckon you need about half dozen Brits so far :)

Fantastic! The only thing stopping me doing the Zulu war now is money... ::)
Perhaps you should start with something small, like Ulundi...

Cery nice indeed I admire your staying power. I painted 250 20mm ones a few years back (Qualiticast and Newline and know they are a pain after a while, to paint

Thanks for that! Oh, and for the less than subliminal advertising too! :D

As to more figures, well yes that's probably true, at least a fourth regiment for my Impi. However, if there are no new Zulu poses in the pipeline I need a break as painting about 112 in so shor a time has rather left me 'Zulu-ed out' ::)

I do have eight Brits to paint ~Thank you,Phil! ~ to add to the Someset Light Infantry, but want to do my village buildings first.

What rules are you using? as that can help with breaking down your painting of Zulus. Battles for empire is pretty good as that works at the company level with 4 stands = a company (Ivayo or amivayo - not sure on spelling). I noticed you have different coloured shields so far so each can be form a different regiment Black being juunior with more senior reguiments bening more white.

There are exceptions if I recall following Cetswayos rise to power in the 1860s with new conventions on shield design (and size) but it cvould give you some more options for games.
