AP 2018 Hammers Jazz Age Pathans
« on: March 07, 2018, 10:18:17 AM »
Just to kick things off I am posting these photos of mounted pathans which I completed for a Build Something competition years ago. I have more than two hundred pathans or pathan conversions from various companies (Empress, Perry, Foundry, Brigade, Old Glory, Artizan, Castaway...) which have been neglected for quite a while. As I have lusted for some new ones which have emerged the last year or two but which I have forbidden myself to purchase until the lead pile is reduced, I better get cracking with those I have. Also, my Jazz Age Indian Army has such an arsenal of heavy equipment that I have to boost the opposite number with...well, numbers. I figure each armored car is about 10 mounted wazirs or 20 foot with mixed rifles and jezails. A HMG has its equivalent in about half of that. I am not all that picky about balancing things but a raid up the Smut Valley should not be a walk in the park. (Thatswhatshesaid!)

See my previous work on primarily a Jazz Age Indian Army here.

"The Pathans!"

"Derek and Edna?"

"No, the violent but proud hill people who threaten our very existence! I must go and be kind to them."

Best of luck, old thing!  I've tried AP twice myself to try and re-energize my painting, and it didn't work either time, so I shall sit this one out, I think. But I shall follow this one eagerly. :)

Nice work Peder on your continuing endeavour in excellence for your project.

I didn't know Tesco was around back in Gunga Din days!
Best wishes,
Helen

Glad you noticed. As I recall that plastic bag was damned fiddly work.

Oh, I’m looking forward to this! 8) The pieces you have already tell some great wee stories! Some really nice diorama style pieces!

Btw, does this mean the BSC tower is now put on hold? :-[

I am little short o. Hobby time these days as shutteling the yoong Hammers between judo,  Shorinji Kempo, skatebord hall, scouts and swimming training, which means that whatever time I have for myself I want ro spend on some I currently feel like doing. Now it is pathan, but I am sure that I soon enough will swing back to that tower.
