An inexplicable pose among those knights, but undoubtedly very well painted.

I love the Crusaders, somewhat comical looking and definately well painted and well photographed. The artillery looks good too but the Crusaders win for me 8)

Both really nice entries. But in the end the paintjob on the knights was the deciding factor, my vote goes to the knights. Is it me or do they look a bit like halflings/people with too short legs?

Okay, the second one made me laugh real hard with that rediculous pope-knight. What a goofy model...right up my alley :D. Love the painting on the knights too.
I like the first one too but it's a bit busy and it could use a bit more light. Great painting but in the end I voted on the knights for sheer comedy value :)

I'm not sure whether it's a case of " Is that a mace you have in your baldrick or are you just pleased to see me?' or 'Red Knight's Crazy Clearance, everything must go!' with the chap in the middle.

Nice paint job though. Actually nice work on both.

Actually the bishop has been caning the communion wine and has just broken into a rousing rendition of "we will rock you!". lol

Yep Essex, bought from The Rye Stamp Shop nearly 30 years ago.

Just got round to painting them, but then the LAF comp is all about reducing the lead mountain lol

The terrifying thing is that I too bought a load of these from The Rye Stamp & Hobby Shop about 30 years ago!
They may look funny now, but believe you me, at the time these characterful little sculpts - Essex's very first 25mm figures - were revolutionary compared to the relatively crude or bland offerings of the then mainstream manufacturers.

I think they're lovely. Wish I hadn't sold mine now  ;)

The photo in the first entry doesn't really do justice to the figures, so it is hard to tell. The knights have a very nice shaded look to them. Good luck to you both. I am sure this will be a hard one to decide a winner on!!

It puzzles me that every single comment seems in favor of the knights, but the artillery piece is winning.   ???

Yes I think he's saying, Lay down your weapons brothers we can all be friends, and his two mates on the left are thinking, ' he's bloody at it again'  lol

I thought both entires were excellent, but voted for the gun crew as it encapsulated the melee of the battle as well as being well painted in a rugged looking style too.

very difficult choice though

Both are fabulous but I had to chose these guys
