I just went through the entire log and my hat is off to you sir. Wow! this army looks great. I'm very tempted to create a dark fantasy force myself.
You flatter me too much with the picture style. Thank you so much it's an awesome compliment. I'd love for you to keep me posted if you take new pictures!

Table looks fantastic. Have you given any thought to things like casualty models and the like? The small things that do a lot up the atmosphere and effect

Thanks a bunch, everyone :) Glad you like them! Full credit to Breazer's inspirational work.

Another pic I worked on a little while back - think I could do better, am working on an improved version of this down the line. But for now, the people of Yursgrad:

" ... the seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days."

That's incredible - I've never seen that page before. Having a browse through now. Thanks for the inspiration! Really awesome stuff. I just finished another pic, but will be going through HVM for further inspiration in future for sure.

______________

Got the inspiration for this pic from reading up on the Teutonic Knights' campaigns against the Lithuanian pagans during the 14th century, which was by all accounts a particularly miserable series of conflicts due to the propensity of both sides to commit what would be considered war crimes today. The Black Order (in my own fiction) has a similar tendency toward less than chivalrous behaviour in its own universe, and has heavy Slavic/Germanic inspirations, so the parallel seems clear. Figured this pic would represent the Order moving north and 'displacing' the local inhabitants from their lands at the end of a lance.

oh blimey, that diorama / photo is magnificent (and suitably dark given your potted history).
