Looks great!

As for Age of Magic, I would definitly recomnend it. The magic system adds a nice touch, and list building is fun without taking away the simplicity of SAGA.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words, guys. Sorry for not replying sooner. The world seems to have gone a bit crazy. Unfortunately, I was out of the country when the crisis hit so am currently prevented from returning home by border closures. Luckily have been able to stay with family in the meantime, but didn't expect to be away from home for almost two months.

I do have a couple things to share. Bought a couple paints and brushes and dug out an old Planetary Empires set NIB I had in storage. Looking at the tiles, one 'face' of the set is pretty clearly sci-fi and the other 'face' could be anything at all - so I'm painting up a set with fantasy in mind for one side, and 40k/30k/Deadzone on the other. This will eventually tie into a campaign I want to run when the lockdown finally ends. To be honest, I'm quite excited - I really wanted to build a 'world' for ages beyond the stories and flavour texts I wrote for the Black Order, and this gives me the chance to do so!

More to come. Just the first 4 tiles as a colour/theme test for now.

" ... the seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days."

-Thrall Flavor Text, Myth: The Fallen Lords

That is rough to be away from home for any unplanned length of time.  Best of luck getting home safe and healthy.

Yeah, cheers gents. Not ideal, but what can you do? At least in the meantime I can share some pics I'd forgotten about.

I attended Franticon 2020 earlier in March - three days of non-stop Kings of War and Kings of War: Vanguard tournaments. It was pretty exhausting, haha.  I thought I'd share a few pics from the action, and also share the writeup of the event(s) on my very much work-in-progress blog here:

__________________________

The Hunters of the Deepwood were the warband I took to the Vanguard event on Friday at Franticon. Ultimately, the Black Order's huntsmen (+ a big friend or two) came 5th overall out of about 25 players. Wasn't too bad for my first Vanguard tournament but could have been better due to some bad decisions made in Game 2.

These guys were the last painting completion I had before the event itself, for Kings of War singles. I'll upload some pics of the singles (and the display board!) soon.

Here's the second wave of pictures from Franticon 2020, namely of the army I took to singles.

I was really fortunate to place 5th Overall in Vanguard, 5th Overall in Kings of War Doubles, 3rd Best Painted in Vanguard, and 1st Best Army in both Kings of War events (doubles and singles). Hope to do better next year.

(Bonus shot of some wargear cards I made)

Thanks for looking!

Thanks man. Was cheating a bit as it's a tile from my homemade Vanguard board, haha. Btw, I ordered some Iron Gate trebuchets after seeing the ones in your thread - expect to see them on here soon :)

Fantastic Work!

Really love the look of everything and how cohesive you make it.

I can't imagine what put you in 3rd for Vanguard but they must have been truly special.
