Fantastic work on the frozen pond. A cold and lonely resting place for sure.

One Knight Captain for magic use and the other for pure fighting?  :)

He’s  is a great miniature,worthwhile doing again  :)

Cheers :)

Sometimes one just wants to build, right? Great take on Tyr, I think I like it a bit more than the first.

I just went through the whole thread and it is such an inspiration. Well done once more!

Yeah I guess so. I figured I have tons of bits lying around, may as well use them. Curious if (like me) you prefer the helmeted option more? Seems to be a better scale than the GW guardsman head.

Thanks fella :) Yes I think it's going to end up a bit like a Magic the Gathering alt card haha.

Helmeted version of Tyr:

" ... the seventh wave of Thrall stumbled and climbed over the slippery, piled dead and Mazzarin saw The Watcher with them and at last knew the number of his days."

-Thrall Flavor Text, Myth: The Fallen Lords

Very nice. I like them both, but the helmet certainly makes this version a little more visually distinct from the other.

Yeah. I figured there ought to be SOME difference at least.

Added some interest to the base - think this is it before the undercoat now.

If I may express my opinion, I like the helmeted version a bit better, but both are very nice.
And the base... The base is amazing!

Cheers fella! I'm really warming to the helmeted version too. It photographs a lot better and I feel the pose came out really close to what I originally had in mind.

I like the pose you have created.

The body in the puddle looks great.

Amazing work as always. I like the new figure, and I say never fight the muse.

The helmeted version is my preference.

Cheers chaps. Really appreciate it. :)

In case you're missing gaming as much as I am this holiday season, you could do worse than checking out Frostgrave's darker cousin Rangers of Shadow Deep for some solo or co-op gaming. I thought the below might be of inspiration to people who can't get Frostgrave action at the minute but still want to play.
We played through Rangers' introductory scenario earlier this year (whilst in lockdown, ha) and had an absolute blast. It's got a lot of the same mechanics but is well tailored to smaller numbers of models and is a good way to get non-gamer relatives/friends into tabletop stuff if they've expressed interest.

The below is a recently re-edited narrative report of my Black Order warband's (mis)adventures in the first two scenarios of Rangers, with re-skinned names and a slightly boosted 'power level' for both the heroes and villains. Bit lengthy but might be of interest to some - as said elsewhere, I've found the Frostgrave/Rangers 'family' a constant source of inspiration during lockdown so hopefully this inspires others in turn.

Thanks for reading and Merry Christmas 🙂

That is an exceptional campaign report! I’ve followed the thread from the beginning and enjoyed seeing each of the models and units as they were completed- seeing them in use in these AARs is inspiring.

I have no idea what you’ll add next, but I’m certain it will be brilliant!

Stunning work as always mate, very enjoyable to read...always a challenge with any fantasy background given there are so many well-known “worlds” but you really carry it off.
