I, er, may be addicted to laminating.

(SAGA ruses look extremely fun - anyone tried?)

Nothing wrong with that. I'm a big whore for laminated quick reference sheets.  I end up making QRS for all of my games, lol.

Good thing too, cos I'm at it again... Making a warlord sheet for my Saga adventures. Me and a few friends are starting to keep track of our Warlords' experience as we play Saga. Thought I'd reuse some assets from the Oathmark cards and make a custom XP tracker, with flavour text etc matching the force:

Taking a leaf out of Koyote's excellent idea for using tabletop markers to represent advanced abilities in SAGA, I made a custom marker for the Black Order's reskinned 'Raise the Black Banner' ability. If you have the Horde battle board, you'll recognise this one...

I'm mostly occupied by painting terrain and the Pagan Rus in terms of Saga at the minute.

But.

That's no reason not to make a 7th rendition of the Black Order's leader.

I may have a problem...

Also, terrain in the works, freshly decorated with pagan Rus graffiti.

I've been tempted into looking at Britcon 2022. https://www.bhgs.org.uk/britcon---saga.html

I've never been to a Saga event before, but I have a friend who has, and he said it's generally a pretty chilled out atmosphere, so... Here I am looking at my first wargaming event in over a year and a half.

Hit by a sudden wave of inspiration, therefore, I started to make some custom fatigue markers - 3D ones instead of 2D just to give that added relish.

Nice! I have had something similar in the back of my mind for ages but never got round to it.

The township of Ember takes form!

I needed some more buildings for an upcoming game of the SAGA Legend scenario Urban Uprising. This scenario calls for an almost Mordheim-esque coverage of a 4x3 space with buildings and impassable terrain, representing the narrow, winding streets of a large city. While I don't think I'll quite manage a full 'city' - more of a 'township' feel - I'm well on the way now, with four of seven buildings down. Three resin casts from Norba (avoid - worst I've ever worked with and had to resculpt parts of the rooves entirely) and a Perry outhouse. Had a lot of fun adding bits and pieces to add character to each one. Still not quite finished yet.

And I also tried something slightly different recently - a foray into a universe I was in love with as a child, but have been away from for 15 odd years...

Great results on the buildings, and those rangers look very nice.

Love the rangers, I keep meanin to grab that kit and paint them at some point.

Houses are nice as well, where are you going next? I think the Rohan house kit could be done up to fit nicely in with this look.

Thanks all!

Love the rangers, I keep meanin to grab that kit and paint them at some point.

Houses are nice as well, where are you going next? I think the Rohan house kit could be done up to fit nicely in with this look.

Considering they must be nigh on 20 years old, they're still a pretty decent kit.

I think for now I'm going to swerve and do some other projects for a bit - painting 4 houses back-to-back tired me out a bit and I still need to go back and add details (signposts etc).

Can't remember if I said already in this thread. I decided to attend my first ever SAGA event at Britcon 2022 later this year in August, so that gives me plenty of time to start thinking what I want to take. On the one hand, I'm slowly putting together some Pagan Rus for Heerschau 2022. On the other hand, I really do want to give the Black Order another run at an event, so I'm tempted to go back to their historical inspiration - the Teutonic Order - and run them at Britcon. Only historical boards from the Age of Crusades, Age of Vikings and Age of Invasions are allowed at the one-day event, so I'll be choosing from those.

Therefore, I need some fatigue markers! Some nice 3D ones. I also need a little army display tray which I'm going to work on soon I think.

And of course that's an excuse to finish off the latest Warlord conversion...

So here we go with the first completion of the road to Britcon 2022: Fatigue markers and Knight-Captain Tyr all ready to lead the Order on the battlefields of Nottingham.

Great work as usual.  Where are the Rangers from?  Old GW?
