Those riders are very nicely done - painting is great and the base-work is awesome. The larger bases do give them a certain presence.

Those riders are a great addition.  This is one of the best army projects I’ve seen.

After concluding a 'tweaked' Limes campaign with a friend in which the Ordenstaat held out against a Jomsviking horde (spoiler: it didn't last past campaign turn 3!) I've been looking for a fresh faction to run my eastern European/Teutonic-inspired knights as, and settled on Eastern Princes.

The list of the Rus princedoms seems to fit well with a combined-arms force, with heavy cavalry, infantry and levy crossbows fitting the Teuton feel fairly well.
It also gives me the chance to make a war wagon, which is completely new to me from a modelling standpoint, so here goes nothing! This is where I'm up to with a 1st Corps 'large' war wagon. (Note: It's about twice the size they advertise on the website, barely fits on a 120mm oval base).

Not quite finished yet - still working on a casualty diorama for the base - but I'm enjoying the interior detailing so far.

That looks great! The positioning on the base adds to the dynamism.

Looks fantastic.  Invicta has a great video on YouTube covering the design and use of war wagons.  Pretty cool stuff.

What do you think?

I really like your work, your conversions are superb.
The war wagon looks great so far, but there is on thing that bothers me a little.
The horses look like they are moving, yet the little ladder on the side reaches down to the ground. After you texture the base this may look strange.

The wagon is gorgeous!
I'm concerned for the horses... it appears the wagon is stationary and actively engaged, but the horses are still harnessed up front instead of hidden behind the wagon...
But I am a natural pedant  lol

Good shout - will go check that out before I put paint on this beast.

I'll leave the horses riderless for now I think. Once there are parts to build a casualty diorama on the base, it'll be plenty busy enough.

Answering you chaps together - yes, I also get what you mean about the stationary/engaged look of the wagon vs. the horses. Put simply, I couldn't find a way to get Fireforge's horses to look static and I don't trust my sculpting skills that much. It's a slight oddity which will have to do, I think. Depending on how the casualty diorama works out, there's always the explanation that the wagon is in motion with the ramp down for an emergency "casevac" under fire, so to speak, and won't be able to come to a complete halt. But let's see what it looks like when the extra parts are added.

As for putting the horses behind the wagon - simply not enough space on the base to do everything I wanted. Afraid it's been decided for me!

Now, for a quick aside, as I'm still waiting for the 3D printed parts for the wagon to arrive, I decided to complete the mounted version of my Warlord. For the longest time I've meant to do a mounted version of my knight-commander, and finally this weekend I put some paint on him! Getting him to match the foot version was a nightmare as the same Fireforge parts (but mounted) don't exist, so a fair amount of sculpting and 3D printing happened. Still, here he is in the end! Plus comparison pics with the foot version.

What do you think? Close enough to each other?

Beautiful as ever! I wish manufacturers made mounted and foot versions of the same characters more commonly.

Thanks for considering our opinions on the wagon too, its your project so other people's thoughts don't really matter, but your reasoning is appreciated and I hear you on the difficulty of converting horses  lol You have plenty of sculpting talent, I couldn't even begin to consider attempting it.

Very excited for the end result, one doesn't see enough war wagons either  :D
