Captain Katryn Pryde, her faithful dragon Lockheed, and 3 of her stooges have recently arrived at Rotgut Landing to smuggle out Spook, Ghast and Van Saar weapons under the noses of the Palantine Enforcers. (Smuggler Shore Party)

Lovely.  Funny coincidence too, I stumbled over the bits for an uncompleted conversion (from 1999 IIRC) to turn a plastic marine into a shuriken catapult armed xeno-weapon specialist.  Homage to the old RT era metal fig that had one, of course - although shurikats were hell on wheels back then, not the sad things they've been since 3rd ed.

"REPENT sinners, REPENT heretics, REPENT AND BUUUURN!" Redemptionist's have been sighted in Rotgut Landing's lower levels, they are keeping themselves busy burning out mutants, and the local gambling house, and the local tavern, and the local brothel, and the local rat on a stick vendor....and well everything to be honest...

Rebel Lord Kritza fled into the Underive amidst rumors of mutation. He was last sighted with a growing number of mutants engaging a tribe of Ratskins near the ruins of Ohbloodyhellmyknee.

Nice work.  Are the Redemptionists the figs from the new-ish Cawdor expansion box?

What size base did you use for the Rat King there?  I know AoS saddles him with a cavalry base to make room for his trailing bits, which looks very out of place on an infantry fig.  How tall is he compared to standard gangers?  All the new vamp sculpts I've seen were gigantic, closer to 35mm.

Great additions, very characterful.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Thanks, yes those are the new Redemptionists, and the Rat King is tall and on a huge base, not sure the size, I think its a 60mm?

Yeah, the stock base is a 60mm oval.  He is a tall boy, isn't he?  I suppose 40K humanity does see more variation than we do today due to everything from genetic engineering in the past to polluted environments full of mutagens to warpspace influence, so not unreasonable for a mutated nobleman to be that tall next to the average prole.

Jonah the Flagellator, in service to House Cawdor, known to whip and beat Cawdor gangers as much as he whips and beats himself, "Shame *whip* Shame *crack* Shame *slash* Shame..."

Two hive scum cheap gums for hire.

The old plastic miniatures that came with the first edition of Necromunda have been rendered (mostly) illegal for starter gangs due to the equipment restrictions, but they makefor great Hive Scum hangers-on.

Very nice.  I really need (read: want) to pick up a set of those arco-flagellants one of these days.  Does the kit leave you with any spare whip bits if fully built as stock?   Not that it'll matter much, I'm sure some of them will wind up with "hand" and head swaps anyway.  Make a good base body for runners in Stargrave, dynamic pose and pretty much naked...

The one I used came from the Sisters box set from 2019, so not sure what the boxed kit is like, but basically its two body half's with arms already attached with a choice of faces, that's it. GW doesn't really go in for a lot of choices these days.

Interesting, I didn't realize there was a push-fit kit of those.  Looking at the sprue on the GW store it looks like they stuck with the two-part bodies (at least on 80% of the figs) but the arms and weapons are separate and probably somewhat cross-compatible.  I count what look to be twenty flail-bits on a sprue with five bodies, so plenty of leftovers.

FWIW, their ad blurb for the kit includes:

Quote
Each Arco-flagellant is ‘armed’ with a pair arco-flails (well, they've been grafted on, so they have no choice really!). There are two different head, left arm and right arm options for each body, including a specific combination enabling you to make the classic Arco-flagellant, Damien 1427.

Not up there with many of the older super-modular kits, but not terrible for adding to the bits box either.  I do wish they'd stop doing the "two identical sprues in the same box" thing less often, something Necromunda and Bloodbowl have both been saddled with.
