Wasteland Walker
« on: March 24, 2018, 10:18:16 PM »
I'm once again in such a stage in which I start dozens of projects that later on take me months to finish. I started this one like a week ago, but I've been out of home some days and I totally forgot about posting in the forum.

My new silliness starts with a pair of Sentinel legs and a serum vial...

I was aiming for some kind of tech insectoid mount, following some Rogue Trader or the like inspiration for aesthetics...

I used this old Kislevite as the rider, I had cast the mini into oblivion for ages, so it was time to do something about that.

OK, I didn't plan it so well. Once I had all the greenstuff work done I realised the head should turn in the same direction as the mount's. So I had to cut and reposition it afterwards.

After some additional details, I finally came to this:

Everything about it can be found on the blog.

However, this very morning I have replaced the rider's head as I've been thinking about its background and I had an even sillier idea ;D. Let me upload the pics from the phone to the computer and I'll post them over here...

That's a great little build  8)

Looking at the first couple of pictures I didn't think it was going to work but it's turned out spot on.
cheers

Thank you!

Shamefully not yet :(. But here you have the pics as promised, as I made a change in the interpretation of the character of the rider by replacing the head. When doing all this I originally had no clear purpose for the mini. But I suddenly thought of a Knight-errant, quite a particular one. I looked for this head in my bits box...

...and turned into this:

So please let me introduce Don Qirixote of Manchae Prime :D:

Ahem.
 ;D

Hopefully some paint during the week.

Are you going to paint  Rocinante on the side of the walker?

Being new to this genre, I had to wait for the primer before I could understand it; it looks really fantastic, and I'm looking forward to seeing it finished...

I really like the knight errant on there now: it gives it so much character...

I was thinking of the Greek letter Rho and then the number 102, but in Roman numerals; so Rho-102 would be RhoCII ;D

A great combination of pose and detail. I'd be very interested in how you get the paint to stick to that type of plastic - so many interesting shapes but all seem to downright repel any primer I've tried or to have it flake off later.

Halfords do a grey plastic primer. That could work mr.westfalia.

I like the headswap, it adds more character to it and breaks away from the flat monopose.
