Very nice, that ranger.

I must add that I love the backdrops you create for your photos.

Played some games of Merciless, but my buddy ran them as dungeon crawls - DM'ing some scenarios, in place of normal skirmish games.

Hope you're ready for some serious exictement!  Birds!

I needed something to cover vultures, carrion, hawks/birds of prey, and proto-hawks for both Merciless and Scrapheap.  These raptors from Malifaux will serve until I get ore dedicated and interesting models.  Only compllaint is that they're typical Malifaux - read: super duper slender/delicate/fragile.  Borderline not suitable for gaming, so I don't think these'll last many games.

Their legs in particular are sub 0.2mm or so...and will snap at the slightest snag, etc.  So, this may be a wasted $20 in a few weeks time.

Soooo...it's been a bit (just under a year).  Figure I'll play catch up.

Explanation first.  Simply put, what started as a simple dungeon crawl project became a massive game (Caverns, Crypts, & Catacombs) endeavor...which then burned me out after I worked on it for something like 2.5 years straight.  I got real burned out and shifted gears to a "quick and easy" game to just get back into the flow.  That game (Merciless) then became two games...gaining a sister game (Scrapheap) set in the sci-fi/post apoc genre.

Then Famine, Sword, & Fire happened on a whim...by accident. Next thing ya know, I'm designing and playing four games...none of which have been properly completed or put on sale. Good thing this is a hobby and not a business.

Anyway, over the past year I've been doing 'some' fantasy stuff, though I went hard into Scrapheap when I decided to finish that game first (which will be followed by Merciless).  I've been playing some CCC, and even ran it at Siege of Augusta, etc.  Was planning on running it at CoastalCon (but they closed down).

So, just some updates:
Been playing a lot of Famine, Sword, & Fire (which is an Imagi-Nations/Fantasy rank-n-flank).  I have a separate thread on it here on LA.

Amassed a solid army for the game, a fictitious/fantasy army basically.

Played some Merciless many moons ago:

Played some Merciless (modified by my buddy) at his place:

I ran some Caverns, Crypts, & Catacombs at Siege of Augusta.  People had a good time.

Played some more Merciless at my buddy's place!

Played a lot of CCC with my buddy Josh last month, had a great time.

I've been working on some stuff behind the scenes (and I'm...always working on rules).  But, as a teaser, here is some terrain I did today.  I repainted/rebased some live stock and repainted some nice little Wizkids scatter terrain.

I liked the Wizkids stuff so much I ordered another set...and some others.  Just been churning out terrain.  This stuff will serve for Merciless, the dungeon crawl, and the ancients game.

Another set of the same Wizkids stuff, repainted.

Some interior scatter.

Some 3D printed fantasy terrain my buddy printed me a while ago.

I know - not the most exciting...

Oh, and some more fences.

These are the Pegasus Hobbies fences...just trimmed, repainted and based.

Those are really useful bits, and I love your painting on the woodwork (especially the farm equipment).

Always an inspiration, and really enjoyed seeing pics of the dungeon crawl.

Thanks all.  While not the most exciting stuff to paint, I've decided my ancients/fantasy/medieval table should have the same level of scatter and silliness that my Old West towns do.  I normally just steal my Old West scatter terrain for stuff like that -- but figured I'd give them some more appropriate stuff.

I haven't gone to "Old West" levels on most of my other projects but since this stuff will be so versatile (including use in other settings I don't even play...yet) I think it's all been worthwhile.  May grab a few more sets of scatter to really get it all going.  I'd also like to build a small wagon/cart caravan which I think would prove very useful for scenarios.

This may shock you, but I've been working on...more terrain.

Treasure Tokens and more scatter and animals (including chickens!)

Also decided to strip down and re-base and re-rim all of my tree stands yesterday.  They've been bugging me for a while.  All of this is in pursuit of a greater goal which will be revealed soon, promise.  lol
