Central plinth made, just a few fiddly bits to go. Lots of cockups on the sides but fixed or hidden!

Its 4' long and 6" deep

The dome will make it about 12" tall.

Still tring to work out how to do the pediment and friezes. Going to be tricky...
Might have to try sculpting them...

I'm going to give them two coats of ignoring for now...

Fair enough. I doubt most people would have noticed if you'd not said anything- it's not like we see the real building every day.

That said, Eldest Son is currently visiting it as part of a school trip to Berlin. He reports it has been renovated a little bit since the time of your model.

Just a little!

It' was refurbed in 1971 and more recently in 1993 I think with it's current dome.

Post war the internal structure was basically destroyed.

Rather than sculpting the friezes have you considered creating a bas-relief effect by scribing some heavy duty aluminium foil? With a suitable scribing tool, I reckon you could get a decent effect indenting the back of some heavy duty metal foil, like the stuff you find sealing coffee cans and the like. You could pencil on your design (backwards, naturally enough) and then trace over it. Then glue the results to the building. Just an idea.
