I have done some stacks of food aid. For the African warlords to fight for/over.

Also I have dipped my toe in the sea of madness that is building walls with individual bricks. Even though I quite like the result. I am not sure I’ll do any more. I just don’t think I have the required OCD.

Those food bags look great. How did you do the labels?

For some of them I glued on a printed out UN Food program logo. The rest are painted on. The stacks themselves are from Ainsty.

Re: Dr. Zombies African conflicts. With Spectre 2nd edition AAR

We had our first game of Spectre operations 2nd edition last night.

An American Blackhawk helicopter has been shoot down over enemy held territory and the crew have been captured by local militia forces. A Spec. Ops. team in the area is redirected to try and rescue the downed aviators. Once they locate and secure the downed airmen they can call for extraction. Helo extraction is only available if they first take out the ZSU AA gun who took down the first bird. Otherwise they will have to exfil by road wehicles.

An overview of the battlezone.

Alpha team approaches through the bombed out building to the south west. And set up a fire support position in the building

In the streets are agitated mobs of civilians some are starting to produce weapons. But the ROE does not allow shooting into civilian mobs.

Alpha team advances over the walls and alleys. They are slowed down a bit by a few members who loose their foothold and are unable to cross the walls as quickly as the rest.

Meanwhile some armed bands start to separate from the civilian mobs.

As they come to the alley where one of alpha team is about to climb a wall they are cut down from a hail of fire from the fire support team in the south western building. But as they are so riled up they avoid getting pinned down and shoot and kill the operator.

One of the Alpha team members have reached the target building and secured the downed airmen. As she calls for the relief convoy she lays down some tear gas to keep the civilian mob at bay. One turns out to be dead and the other one wounded and he informs the team that they have to destroy the downed helicopter as it was carrying top secret communications gear that they cannot allow to be compromised.

The militia start to outflank the target building.

The Alpha operator goes on to the roof in order to further secure the building. But she is cut down in a hail of bullets from the Militia in the street.

The militia in the southwestern alley are advancing on the target building also. There is one Alpha operator in the yard to hold them off. He throws a grenade over the walls but he fumbles it and it detonates harmlessly down the alley.

An he decides to make a tactical retreat as the militia rounds the wall.

The relief convoy arrives and announces its presence with blowing a blocking technical to kingdom come.

Disaster strikes!
A militiaman on the container roof hits the driver of one of the Humwees knoking him uncontious. The hummer weers into a wall that flips the hummer onto the second one, causing them both to explode.

The operator who retreated to the alley manages to get to the remaining SUV and retreat off table. There is one operator left with the downed airmen and he is quickly overpowered by the mob and taken captive as well.

This was our first game of the new edition of Spectre. The one real massive change is the pinning rule. I am not entirely sure we played it correctly. I sort of hope not. The situation where a group of militia with a leader catches an operator in the open they are shot at seven times and loose 5 men meaning 7 suppression but as they have a command of 4 only enough to cause one suppression test that they pass meaning that the survivors can gun down the operator with no ill effects despite having taken a lot of fire.
