Thanks for posting this thread - wonderful to see these back.  That board is VSF gaming on the grand scale.

lol Why would that be  ;)

The bases are painted with a tan colour the same colour as masking tape, sand is then glued on and when dry given a wash or Windsor and Newton sepia ink (watered down 60/30water/ink). when this is dry I drybrush them with the Foundry triad Ocre although I now have colour match tester pots from B&Q (B&Q is a large diy shopping chain here in the UK) so it's much cheaper than using the Foundry colours. To finish them off a few random tufts of long pale brown grass are added.

I hope that makes sense, if you've got any more questions then ask away  :)

Thanks  :)

I'm not really sure  lol I've just had a sort of design ethic in my head for them for ages now and I try to keep to it for each build and so far it seems to be working.

I really should sort out the photos of the other builds and post them  :?

Slowly going through the photos and deciding what to post. I think roughly the same order as the original thread apart from the troops which seriously need much better photos  :?

So, it was neffs first. I've got quite a fleet sorted now and below is pretty much what is complete. I have some wip shots of neffs yet to be completed and I'll post those up next (when I find them in a day or so).

There are still some details to go on some of them, like flags, ships wheels etc, but they are table ready and have seen action several times.

Here is the first one I did and it was actually one of the first builds I posted here around ten (?) years ago. It's called the Kaze (pronounced Kahzay) and everything on it is scratchbuilt apart from the spotlight and the chains on the deck (GW products)

And then we have a very tiny Admirals launch. The top is a resin cast of an old mould I made at uni (which is now defunct) and the hull is scratch built.

Next is a small gunboat, the Misugi. Scratchbuilt again apart form the turret gun

Then it's an armoured heavy gunboat, the Amagi. Scratchbuilt again.

And finally for now this is the floating defense platform. Once again scratchbuilt apart from the turrets.
