Looking for a Maid Marian Outlaw
« on: April 01, 2024, 11:05:11 PM »
I've got the Baron's War Death and Taxes, set but I'm not a super fan of the Maid Marian in that set. So, I'm scouring the internet for an alternative and it's tough sledding out here. Not too many female outlaw/warrior type models for this era. Mostly Nobles and Townspeople.

So. Much. High. Fantasy.

Anyway, I'm looking for something a little grounded in history. This is the closest, but I think these Dark Sword minis are a bit taller than 28mm, correct? https://www.darkswordminiatures.com/shop/maid-marian-woodland-garb/

Maybe I'm wrong and that's the perfect mini?

Until confirmed...anyone aware of any models in similar garb that could match Baron's War Outlaws?

Thanks!

Hi, Conquest Games produce a Robin Hood range that includes a female archer. Bad Squiddo also produce female figures, and Colonel Bills also have a "Maid Marian" in its Belt Fed range, albeit the latter is very "Errol Flynn Robin hood".

These Rogue miniatures ones based on the 1980s series Robin of Sherwood are now sold by Miniature Figurines/Caliver books/Partizan Press.

They do them as single miniatures too.

I don’t think I have any Baron’s War miniatures, from the pictures I’ve gathered they are more slender, true 28mm miniatures?
I have no idea how well any of these I’m suggesting might fit scale wise.

Midlam has some potential ones in their bandits and rangers:

https://www.midlamminiatures.co.uk/thieves/bandit-archer-erika-bristow.html

There’s these two from Rangers of Shadow Deep, but maybe they’re too high fantasy?

And this ranger from Sensible Shoes:

Take a look at Reaper Minis.  Lots of female rangers etc.

Thanks, all, for the great suggestions! I think I might first try this Northstar one:

Northstar:

Anyone have any idea who sculpted it or if it's sold in the US?
Cheers!

There's a few figures similiar to the ones you have shown in the original post for Rangers of Shadow's Deep? They always come in a set of two I think, a male and a female ranger and one looks similiar to the one you've shown and could probably be converted easily with the addition of a hand or some such.
