Were the houses raised like that commonly ? I guess the stone area was a cellar accessed from above ?

Got it in one although not that many were raised.

Do the roofs lift off?

Nice modelling. I would like to know if you based that on a particular home or building. And in what part of the country would you find that type home? I'm asking, because I don't recall ever seeing that type of building with so much stone work underneath. Just curious.

A couple of pictures of 18C American houses with stone lower levels, more common would be a stone section built on the slope of a hill so that they did not have to dig so deep to get a cellar
