The fleece mat?
I think James just bought it from a local fabric shop.
He then added some paint and even glued on some sand he collected from the Hill 107 in Crete.
Just for that extra touch of authenticity.

Cheers all; it was a great day out, exhausting as ever, and the weather was perfect for the 77th anniversary of the battle.
The cloth is, as Tom says, just a fleece cloth bought from the market, with some splatter and spray painting, plus flock and sand patches. We created the Tavronitis river bed by raising up the tables on either side, giving us a flat valley in the middle. The whole set up fits in the back of a car.t
