Thanks. I've applied "rust", varnish and hairspray, so it should be ready soon.

I find Pulp modelling a lot less demanding than model railways, possibly because I don't have to make the mechanical bits actually work...

Once again, apologies for the thread resurrection: life intervened.

However, the "Mess Hall" is now complete (and has in fact been complete for a while)...

Also: motorbike and sidecar, and some of the paper oil drums I made as an experiment:

For the foreseeable future I'll be living away from family for work reasons, so I'll try and get things together again and make a solo game happen...

Nice work all around.  Drums came out wonderfully.

Hello. Life intervened. Again. It's still intervening as it happens so I'm working on a simple project so I'm at least making something. Entirely at random, I decided my characters need a "control tower" for their aerodrome.

So far, I've got a basic form and a rather lumpy interior:

This will continue to proceed in fits and starts. Meanwhile I'll try and get my character cards printed.

Progress is being made; we have new window frames. They’re yellow because I happened to have yellow card, which from memory was liberated from a bin at work after an office clear out. It’s one of several fairly large pieces of card so expect to see plenty more inappropriately coloured architectural features.

Many thanks for the kind comments.

I Just looked back through this thread and realised I haven't posted the end result of the monowheel, so here it is:

And the non-drivers side:

With apologies to @tin shed gamer;  In the various house moves I've lost the figures you sent: they can't be too far away so I'll find them eventually and one will become the driver of this vehicle...

I decided that as I seem to be moving a speeds which could charitably be described as “geological” I may as well make some landscapes.

I’m assuming the builders of this low budget aerodrome decided that if you want an elevated building, the cheapest option is to use an existing hill, instead of making an expensive tower out of wood. In keeping with this philosophy I made the ‘landscape’ itself from old cardboard offcuts, before smoothing things down with clay and slopping a gooey mix of wood glue and paint over the top.

Things normal people do when they finish work: watch TV; go to the pub; visit friends.

Things I do when I get home from work: build a tiny outdoor privvy.

I dread to think what sort of a plot point that will be...

It's looking good. I do like the amount of thought going in to this. It makes for a much colourful table.

Thanks TSG. Progress is slow but the building is finally looking like a building:

I expect the railing should be on the inside of the uprights, not hanging out over space, but that’s another compromise to allow for the large bases on tabletop model figures.

I suspect the convention of painting things red and white wasn’t around yet in the 1930’s, but I wanted a red and white aerial, and I think some artistic licence can be tolerated. I doubt they made them of wood either, but I had an old stirring stick and it seemed the right length. It was also so full of paint that after sanding there was no visible grain.

Nearly there now, just the glazing, steps, and a few details to go.

I other news, I found the figures supplied by @tin shed gamer for the mono-wheel featured upstream. Unfortunately getting them to fit the mono-wheel would require some serious rebuilding of the vehicle so it looks like I'll have to make another one.

Life can be so very hard...
