Cheers fellas  :)

It’s a pill and there probably is a meaning behind it but I’d be damned if I can remember  lol

So, the first block of flats. This was done a long time ago (and it’s still not finished  lol) so here are a few pictures to help refresh your memories.

It’s all laser cut and there was an idea to have interior access. This might not be the case now as I prefer the idea of having plans next to the table instead of faffing around mid game.

A simple spray job with weathering and the lining of the panels (I used a gundam pen and it’s perfect for this job).

The vast majority of flats here have little shops for the ground floor and so this is no different. It’ll be lit as well as having a detailed interior (more for the look than practicality). I’ve got plans for many different shop types so there’ll be no shortage of ground floor detail. There are still some areas that need light blocking but I’ve got some sticky backed steel tape for that.

All the buildings will have realistic details such as fans, cables etc and here is a start on this one, plenty to go though. There will also be a wide selection of street furniture, lampposts included although the idea has changed from free standing ones to ones that’ll plug into holes in the base to allow them to be lit. Pavement s are prt of the baseboards as well on which more later.

And finally there’s the roof clutter. Fortunately there are many easier expressways and rooftop ‘gardens’ in Japan from which these can be seen and photographed. Going to keep the clutter to a minimum as figures will be able to gain access to the roofscape.

Still plenty to do on this one alone but there are more to show which I’ll post up next  :)
cheers

James

Looking good!

I'm also intrigued by the row of Chinese/Vietnamese houses in the background.

Thanks chaps  :)

Chinese town building commission from years ago (at least six when the pictures were originally taken I think).

Seeing you showing off these buildings again makes me realise you need a 28mm scale Gundam or Godzilla for your table! ;)

I’ve got a 1/48 Patlabor along with another mech from the same series that’ll get some work done in them at some point. Godzilla is just Nick in a funny costume  lol

That reminds me, I have an AV-96 Ingram and a Brocken assembled in a box somewhere (and an unassembled Helldiver). I must dig them out.
