The Magnificent Seven project
«
on:
June 26, 2018, 10:34:06 PM »
Hi all,
My first post here. I am building the village from the Magnificent Seven movie. This is the 1960 version. The goal is to have this all completed for Little Wars 2019 in the Chicago area. Might get it to Adepticon also.
All the current information is on my blog -

Please feel free to join and or look every so often for more information.
Take care,
Greg

Fun and creative - and a bit challenging - project. Best of luck. Expect I'll stop by from time to time - lots more on the blog than the church, more than I had time to give proper time to tonight.

Good start to the project - had a look on the blog too and can see you've go quite a few buildings done. Time for a group shot?

Nice looking town you have growing there. What game system will you use to play at LW or Adepticon?

We will be using a modified version of Legends of the Old West. I am creating specific stats for each major character and the minions. The modifications are to assist in moving the game along to fit in a convention slot.

Here are some pictures of the village so far. I have included all finished buildings plus one that is nearing completion. I need to build one more major structure and then all the accessories - fountain, walls, dead tree, cemetery etc.
Well having trouble getting the pictures in here. So please go to my blog to see them.

More pictures here,
http://gregslittlewars.blogspot.com/
Getting close to completion. Game plan is to get the game playable and then keep adding details to the scenery. The new pictures show a fountain and some out buildings along with the last two main structures. Next I will finish some storage structures, walls and the cemetery.
Thanks for looking,
Greg

One recommendation - sort of a strong one - if you aren't planning it already, add a layer of acrylic gloss medium to the top of the water in the fountain! Will make it look much more like water.
Keep going. Looking forward to seeing your town populated.

Actually there is a thick layer of gloss medium over the inside of the fountain, about 1/8 inch thick. It just did not come through well in the picture. Thank you for your consideration and I appreciate the suggestion.
