I generally just cut out a round shape a bit bigger than what it should be then hack at it with a long knife becoming more careful as I progress. It gets a coat of textured paint then gets painted as normal

This has been done for a while but I've only just gotten round to taking decent pictures of it (it's not being delivered until we're fully out of lockdown).

Second time it's been done as well but this one is slightly different as the client wanted a perpendicular crossroads for it instead of an angled one.
