With a lot of Light and Skirmish figures painted, I decided to start on the Line. These figures are from Warlord games and are plastics.
I got quite a few as a straight swop for stuff out of my lead/plastic pile, and whilst they are not the best figures out there (IMHO) they paint up quite nicely I think.
I've posed them with two Sergeants and an Officer from Perry Miniatures and I think they mix quite well.
From the very little reading I've done my understanding is that the troops wore their greatcoats over their waistcoats to preserve their blue jackets. They also used white/off white covers over their Shakoes, so there's not much blue to show off but the various shades of brown/cream I think is quite attractive :)

Getting these figures to the table I used a scenario from the Charles Grant scenario book rather than one from the Rebels and Patriots rule book (I'm awkward like that lol) I totalled the number of units suggested and doubled that figure giving 28 points to the French attackers against 18 points of Brits defending 3 objectives (the three buildings on the left of the picture) two of which had to be captured.

I used the stuff I've been painting over the last couple of months, so there were two skirmish units of the 95th led by Sharp and Harper, and a unit of Lights led by Sgt Hakeswill.

On the French side were two skirmish units of Voltigeurs and a Line and Light unit of infantry all lead by the dastardly Lt Pepe le Pugh the Welsh emigre Officer.

On the British right the French advanced and almost took the wall lined by Sharpe and Hakeswill, advantage swayed from one side to the other but the British prevailed injuring the French commander and freeing up the Lights to assist Sgt Harper's section.

On the British left Sgt Harper's section struggled to hold against the French onslaught and eventually had to cut and run for the Brit centre where they assisted the Lights in holding onto the second objective. After 14 moves and two hours play it was clearly a Brit win.
Rebels and Patriots are a simple ruleset, this will appeal to some and put others off.
I've had four games and enjoyed all of them, you can play with very little reference to the rulebook and the simplicity of them allows you to easily 'bolt on' as much flavour as you like
