Really nice work! I love the Victrix Late Roman range- some wonderful kits.

Thank you! Such a nice range indeed, the armoured infantry are the highlight for me but all of it is really nice.

Finished the levy today, starting to incorporate a few more speed paints into my routine which really helps. Tunics here are speedpaint and then two quick layers of drybrush for example.

And the foot hearthguard are completed as well. Victrix armoured late romans is a fantastic kit for sure, so it was fun to paint these even though they probably will be sidelined for cavalry most of the time.

And foot command done. Warlord, his two companions which is a unique feature for the Britons in SAGA, and a banner. Warlord and banner will go on a sabot base in the future. The companions did not initially have any cloaks as there are none for these bodies on the sprue, but halfway through painting I felt that they were not cohesive enough with the force, so I sculpted some. Fortunately nothing got messed up and I am quite pleased with how they turned out.

They look great, and I am tempted to buy some.  :)

Excellent. If only I didn’t already have a massive collection of Footsore figures for this setting  ::)

But these are plastics, you can kitbash them ;)

Took a moment to plonk the army down on my Rohan display board to see how they look together. The mercenaries certainly add some colour.

That display board really is a thing of beauty. As for the army, one of your best projects yet. Great work mate.

Thank you! You can see some evolution of my basing in this thread, from the painted sand and tufts to the premixed flock mixes from Geek Gaming Scenics. Really recommend these as they are very easy to get looking good, and it's quite fun to select different mixes for your projects.

Thank you! That one you did with the little frozen jetty was a big inspiration.

And the hearthguard cavalry are done. These painted up much quicker than I expected, with a lot of detail on the horses and tack. Quite pleased with these, and I think I might be getting closer to figuring out my new light setup for photography.
