I must say, for me, by the time you get down to 2mm, the ‘figures’ are pretty much non-existent / invisible from more than a few inches away, so I guess they're just representational blocks...
But the overall effect will be great, I’m sure.
The NAM’s Yorktown diorama is a wonderful example where brilliant terrain and representational figures (literally thousands of tiny red, blue or white pins or pegs representing the combatants) has a profound visual impact. Don’t know if it’s still there, but it’s stuck with me for 40 odd years
