The painting step is started.
I paint the figurines as human but with some greenish reflection. Not easy as the details are not fabulous on the faces.
The most of the work is on the trunks dressing with the foliage and grass.
For that, i use 3 materials :
1- Small trees ( N scale so 5 cms high) from a chinese ebayer (get 50 for +/- 2,79 euros auction !). These are good quality, but
i flock them with Woodland scenics turf with some glue-varnish. When drying, the glue makes them hardened. A plastic
primer is added, giving more hardening to the trees when dry.
Then the trees get the green color i want.
A tree is generaly cut in two parts in the middle. Then i give it a new shape by replacing the foliage.
Sometime i cut only small branches from the trees to add variety.
All theses parts are glue (very easily with the hotgun) on the figurines' tree/scrub trunks depending on the different poses
and scenics given by Reaper' sculptors.
2- Woodland Scenics Clump Foliage to add every where need on the trunks, ground or near the roots .
3- Woodland Scenics Turf/Grass ;
For the basing and glue on the figurines' hair too. That's give them a more natural look.
More hot glue is added on the trunk to give logical links between the branches. The trunks are repaint after that and some new foliage add to hide the imperfections due to the handling of a big glue hotgun.
The first pictures of the work, but on the most easy model because it's already a Dryad !
But that's give you an idea for the others.
enjoy
