It was a first run-out for my Cold War Danes and East Germans this week, as they fought for a series of river-crossings in Schleswig-Holstein, circa 1984:

Looks really amazing and the AAR reads very well. An exciting game in a lovely landscape with just the right amount of tongue in cheek (I liked offensichtlicher hügel and the student exchange most) :)

Interesting read. Thanks.

I did wonder about the figure scale, answered at the end.

Cheers Welly!  Yes, it was a cracking game, though somewhat constrained by the time-limit for our usual club-night.  It'd be good to have a full day.

Cheers guys, that's very kind.

I've just finished painting the rest of my East Germans (second and third Motor Rifle companies, Bn HQ, grenade launcher platoon and AT platoon), as well as another four Danish Centurions, sixteen Danish M113 variants, four Danish Unimog trucks and eighteen SKOT APCs for my forthcoming Polish battalion.  Just made a start on the Polish infantry.  So all of that will be up on the blog soon, starting with the SKOTs.

Will there be another installment of this?
Sometime back we started our own small campaign with the Soviets invading Jutland. Using 6mm forces. This is a real motivator to get the campaign up and running again.

Yes, I'm hoping to get another small game in soon; a hasty attack against a prepared Danish position.  Nothing major, just a small engagement to test more elements of the rules.  It's not a campaign (yet), but it does help to maintain interest if there's a loose connecting narrative.
