Nice to see this project getting some love again.   :D
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Rewrote the original post with the Baja California history and today section a bit, fixed grammar, changed a name of a city and expanded some to hopefully make it read better.

Glad to hear folks remember the project!

Painted up the all important hostage miniatures from Spectre. They will come to represent all manner of unforutnate souls to run into trouble in Baja California and around the world. Painted them up in both dark and tan pants to represent various suits, make them look a little bit less samey but kept the white shirts. I imagine they will come to be foreigners held hostage by the cartels, government agents seize by rebel forces or anything inbetween.

My first two civilians have gotten some colour. I imagine these two will end up being CIA assets, informants, or some other form of non-combatant high value targets to be captured/escorted off a table in the future.

I am surprised that there are not more minis and games about the drug wars in Central America.

It can be really bad in Columbia, Mexico, El Salvador, and so on.

The US, UK, and France have a lot of troops operating with local gov't forces against some very powerful and very nasty drug cartels.

Been awhile since I painted anything modern, but recetly got back into it again. The real struggle with this genre for me continues to be terrain, it is likely just a fact that I should try and be fine with playing on less than ideal boards. But especially since I want to sell others on modern wargaming it feels important to have good terrain to sell them on a good whole experience.

But painted some ghilli snipers from Spectre. Starting to run out of 20mm bases, hopefully I can snag some more next time they restock.
