Beautiful work.

Would you mind sharing you paint recipe for the bases you have done?  They look fantastic.

Really enjoyed discovering this thread. Need to start painting my DA.

DA was extremely popular in the 90s, not sure why it has tailored off

Hmm.  Now that it's resurrected, I can comment.  That is some lovely stuff there.  I trust that giant leopard is as friendly as it looks?...  :D

The leopard is friendly, but my granddaughter is deadly in close combat.

As the Ngoni migrated north, they began to encounter railways built by the British East Africa Company. This skirmish sees a Ngoni Impi using the horns of the buffalo tactic learnt from their mortal enemies the Zulu.

A Detachment of British Naval Troops hold the right flank, whilst conscripted colonial troops led by British officers hold the centre and left flank.

The Ngoni Impi closes with the British at pace, the horns sweeping round on both flanks whilst the head and loins pin the enemy in place.

Will British firepower be enough?

It’s not looking good for the British, as the Ngoni Impi close on them at pace.

I think this battle might just be named the Massacre at Zambia's Railway Station.

Cool! Lovely spread, great looking game and I always like to see the Ngoni in action.

That would be a bit of a giant-killing cup upset there. Historically the Ngoni were the ones getting massacred. There's a reason we have a movie called 'Zulu' but there isn't one called 'Ngoni.'  :)

Nice! lovely set up and miniatures. Definitely a complete reversal of history the few actual engagements between the British and the Ngoni all went the way if the British. Most famously the British invasion of Mpezeni's kingdom, in what is now Zambia, were the Central African rifles backed by Maxim guns and artillery made short work of The Ngoni in several clashes.

...or, when the British open fire at point blank range, the Ngoni are stopped in their tracks - except on the left flank!???  Perhaps more to come.  Or maybe the massacre comment is foretelling and there are no survivors to explain what happened to the colonial authorities come to investigate.

Yes, cool terrain, like the railway and associated buildings.  Interesting arrangement of the turnout/switch that we say and the "implied" one that we don't on the main line - it works okay visually.

Any Ngoni know how to operate the telegraph?  Problems ahead for the next train?
