Hard agree on the death guard, 30k range really scratches that “tacticool” practical aesthetic itch that 40k doesn’t really cater to. Fantastic painting by the way! They look gorgeous :-*

Ultramarines Kill Team - Strike Force Justian
GW released the Kill Team in Q4 2023 in their Warhammer Heroes line. Like a trading card pack you by a mini pack (in certain countries) and can hope for the one you want...  Not my sales model. ;)

I was extremely lucky and had a full team when buying 10 packs and immediately selling the doubles. Anyway - the minis are really nice and the Team is also solid to play. I painted 6 of them, the 7th mini is an alternate sergeant who competes with the captain for the KT leader spot.

Gellerpox Infected

"Foul war bands afflicted by a gruesome techno-organic plague, the Gellerpox Infected are nightmarish meldings of festering flesh and malignant machinery. These hideous beings may once have been loyal servants of the God-Emperor, plying the void beneath the safety of a geller field – such days are long gone, wiped away by supernatural sickness and a gleeful compulsion to spread their infection across the stars."

The team is a joined venture of the great Ana Polanšćak and me. I converted the minis, customized the bases and painted 4 Glitchlings to give Ana a colour idea, after that the true artist of the team (Ana!) came in in and painted minis. I am totally happy with the look she achieved.

Kill Team 2024 - Again a relaunch! The measurement system is improved and the rules are much clearer. Still a bit too detailed for me. But fun enough to get playing.

The new measurement tool, gone are the clumsy abstract symbols, inches are back.

Nice take on these :) The natural, subdued look suits them and makes a nice contrast with the white Tau supplied gear.

I was immediately taken by this new iteration of the Stingwings myself and bought the squad without any purpose (for now). I actually liked them in their old form as well, but they were kind of an odd and not very popular niche in the Tau list and they were very rarely fielded. Hopefully we'll see more of them now.

My plan is to paint mine in a wasp/hornet scheme. The more garish the better. If only because I want them to look decidedly different from my alien bug horde, which is painted in mostly browns.

Although a throwback to the regretfully OOP Spugs by Spriggan (their studio models were all painted bright green, like grashoppers) would be cool too. And I've also seen some really stunning ones in red too.

Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Great stuff! The new Vespids are a pleasant refresh from the originals which felt unfulfilled in design.
