Finished the last miniature for Lobotomy late last night, great feeling and a satisfying sense of achievement. It was a bit daunting at first but slowly the whole core box and a couple of add-on miniatures were all painted up.

These miniatures are the final monsters for the game, "Twins", "Nuns", "Frankensteins monster", "Witches" and "Baba Yaga".

The possessed nuns (just like the Slender man) were purchased as an extra add-on, the remaining monsters are all core box miniatures. The twins are a wonderfully creepy rendition of the urban legend of "Black eyed people". I really think that the whole painted uċ collection will not only add gameplay value to Lobotomy, but the miniatures should also be useful for other games as well despite having clear bases.

More pictures over at my blog, as always:

What a superb body of work, each more creepy and disturbing than the other.
'Sir John ejaculated explosively, sitting up in his chair.' ... 'The Black Gang'.

Thanks!  :)
They were lots of fun to paint, and I got to try out some new colors, painting techniques and experiment a little with my own style on them. I think my painting style has evolved a little while painting the minis for this game

looking through your blog - are you still using the tamiya spray matt varnish?

No, I had so many bad experiences with the Tamiya matt varnish that I have completely swapped to "Warpaints - Anti shine" from Warlord Games. Almost 100% success rate of getting a nice matt finish with the brush on varnish.

oh right, bugger. Just got two cans of the stuff (tamiya) on the way - thanks for the heads up tho'. It's a bit of a black art, this flat matt varnishing business.

To be honest, the humid cold weather in Sweden did not help. If I had somewhere warm and indoors to use the matt varnish I think the result would have been a bit better.

I really like the painting style you went with. Very impressive collection!
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.
