Two Oldhammer rescues
« on: July 13, 2021, 10:45:17 AM »
Hi,
I bought these two figures from the Bazaar of obscurites on this forum and painted them:
First the miniatures as I got it. A champion of Khorne:

Then after some love:

The other figure was a champion of Tzeench with one missing arm with identical sword and as I couldn't find anything similar I decided to give it a big "Tzeench" hand that I took from one plastic Genestealer:

Before:

After:

Cheers,

I think the big hand was a brilliant solution to the issue.

Both excellent figs there, inspiring stuff. That beastman in armour is really fantastic!

Thanks

That made a world of difference! I had to take a second look at the beastman to be sure it wasn't a conversion using a Frostgrave gnoll head. Something about the bared teeth reminded me of the gnolls!

They're very cool figures. I like the older chaos models a lot more than the recent ones. It's kind of ironic, but I find that the recent chaos models often wind up looking strangely uniform, especially if the paint scheme is consistent throughout the unit.

Getting excited & making jokes about dropping Nepalm on little Asian Children in a Viet' village doesn't make it ok just because 'it's wargaming & not real'. You wanker scum need to look again at the real photographic horror of such chemical weapons. Seriously Disgusting mind set amongst some you.

Thank you very much to all for your kind comments. It may be a bit silly, but the part I enjoyed the most was bringing these figures to life again.  :)

Oh yes, I agree with the sentiment entirely. There's something very gratifying about breathing new life into an old figure, repairing, repainting and watching them strut their funky stuff on the tabletop.
A life without festivity is a long road without an inn.

Is that leadrot I see on the original figs? And if so, how did you treat that?

Nice work BTW :-)

Great work.  I have a huge soft spot for "rescued" miniatures.  It's one of my favourite things to do.
