Played our biggest Great Northern War game yet on sunday with 60 units on table. Write up and thoughts on the blog. It wasnt all plain sailing but looked amazing.

Very impressive game and interesting account.

If you are still considering rule set then you might want to check out Osprey's Honours of War rules? Although written for SYW I have used them for Marlburian and they worked well.

Thanks armchair general. I have a couple in my back pocket and will bear Honours of War in mind, at the moment I want to get Black Powder where I need them, mainly as its familiar to our group and anythign new will be a massive challenge to get over the line with the other players all needing hand holding.

I know its not the best reason to stick with them but for the big games we need other players to join in with the minimum of fuss.
