Painted up another couple of skeletons in a wet marshy style.

*That* is a stroke of genius!

Normally I go to great lengths to keep the flock off the figures,
but you have got me thinking about deliberately putting it on!

Thanks for all the comments, guys!

I painted up another Warhammer Underworlds character, this time Valreek from the Grymwatch. Hope you like her.

The bog skeletons and creepy ghoul are great.
Could you do a tutorial on the skeletons? Thats a look I've wanted to create for ages but not sure where to start without making an arse of it

Thanks!

There was a bit of trial and error on the skeletons before I got the look I wanted so I don't really have a definite recipe. But if I was to try to recreate the look I would use Citadel Wraithbone as a base colour and then shade and highlight by mixing in black and white. Then use washes of various desaturated greens and browns to modulate the colours. I used Scale75 SS camouflage colours and Scale75 Gobi Brown which is a brownish green.

For the earth effect I've used my regular ground cover mix which is a mix of finely ground pine bark, old coffee grounds and various turf hues from Woodland scenics. I used an old brush to apply PVA glue like with a base, I then used a brush and my fingers to wipe of the excess. The moss tufts are late fall moss tufts from miniNatur/Silflor.

Although she's more of a sci-fi creature, I feel she fits with the horror theme of this thread. I hope you'll indulge me.

Cyber Vampyre based on Cataphractii from Blanche's OOP Femme Militant miniature line.
