Brill, love the chariot but why has it got such a large base?

The base width is the same as my standard infantry bases, so 3 figures across.

It’s true, I could have used a base with a smaller frontage, but from the descriptions in the book, the chariots are pretty wild, bouncing all over the place....I guess I’m scarred by playing WRG Ancients battles with chariots elegantly gliding across the table in wheel to wheel synchronised formations, so the wider base is meant to encourage players to use the wildling chariots for scouting/skirmishing, or pursuing rather than as some sort of fantasy Tiger tank.

 ;)

Makes sense  :)

Cheers.

The other reason was that I had a bunch of bases that size on my work table   :D

Another day, another bunch of Wildlings....hopefully I’m not boring everyone with more fur-clad Freefolk.

This is the 4th unit of Wildlings on foot, I’ve got one more planned, which will be Cave Dwellers, plus the giants, and maybe a few bits and bobs, and that might be the Freefolk just about done, as I’ve other forces that need some attention.

Just one extract today, a Storm of Swords...it’s evident that “castle forged steel” is in short supply north of the Wall, but I thought the following might make an interesting scenario:

“Roro had sailed past Skagos into the Shivering Sea, visiting a hundred little coves that had never seen a trading ship before. He brought steel; swords, axes, helms, good chainmail hauberks, to trade for furs, ivory, amber, and obsidian. When the Cobblecat turned back south her holds were stuffed, but in the Bay of Seals three black galleys came out to herd her into Eastwatch. They lost their cargo and the Bastard lost his head, for the crime of trading weapons to the wildlings.”

Nightswatch galleys, and weapon smugglers  :)

I am not bored! I am taking inspiration from your wildlings for some “northern folk” from the Icebay of Forochel....  the Lossoth or Snowmen of Forochel for my gaming project.

And that sounds a cracking good idea for a scenario.

Wildlings look nice and frosty. Scenario idea sounds excellent, could probably do both land and sea versions of catching the weapon smuggler.

Looking good! And definitely not bored  :)

The faded-greys on the clothes look great!

The scenario of Eastwatch-piracy definitely sounds interesting! Going back to Davos' ol' long-fingered roots!

Thanks, much appreciated!

Today’s offering, more Bloodrage Giants...3 new ones, rather than two I’d originally planned, as a third found its way into the paint queue.

...like the others, the late addition is pretty much GS putty (apart from his face, hands/toes and the rock).

...and a group shot, including the giant I painted a little while back.

:o That was an extremely quick turnaround! Amazing work!

How do the giants scale up to the mammoths out of curiosity?

Brilliant thread in particular love the volume of miniatures, giants, green stuff work and mammoths - will be looking into getting some Arcane scenery - so thank you for the link - I like the look of their vultures https://arcanesceneryandmodels.co.uk/shop/vultures-pack-of-5-deezee-miniatures-dz17-28mm-wargames/
