The chief and flag are very nicely done in the first entry, while the shading, rust effect of the necrons is very realistic in the second entry...this round is getting really tough to decide on. Both are very well done!! Good luck to others when choosing their vote!!

Need a Both button again, almost! The Necrons are original, and "1/4MainFrame" made me grin, but the photo is better - and the painting is amazing - on the Abbysinnians.

Love the flag :o
Love the chief
But the sword sheath and the faces are amazing. :-*
Sorry Vanvlak but my vote goes to "It is us today..."
I do like the rusty effect on the necrons so different from the normal chrome

I like the necrons - always nice to see alternative uses of GW stuff. I do have to agree, that the Abyssinians take the prize when it comes to painting here, though.

I am a big fan of Vanvlak's scrap heap stuff, but you just can't beat Dylan's Lion of Judah. Boom shakkalack, mon!

Hammers, when you say "Lion of Judah" I hope you're speaking figuratively about the scene in general, as the image on the banner is supposed to be Saint George!   :)  I've never done a freehand flag like this before, but I didn't think it was that bad!  lol lol

"1/4Mainframe" is a hoot. Great entry there from our Maltese contingent (as usual).

both entries very good! congratulations to you both and good luck.

the first caught my eye, I like ethiopians more than fantasy.
Have an awesome flag, I like it very much.

Is that your next trip in history, Plynkes?

Yeah, originally I just bought a few for the LPL, but the period has grabbed my imagination and it has turned into a full-blown project. Damn you, LPL, it wasn't supposed to work this way around!  >:(

I'll start a topic on it in the Colonial section when I have enough figures painted to make it worthwhile.

Will you base it on "Cry Wolf" Wilbur Smith's great novel?

I have to admit, I do have a bias here ;)

The Abyssinians are incredibly well done, and capture the period really well.
I have to ask, would it be possible to borrow the image for the gallery on the Anglian website?

The Necrons, whilst not being my "cup of tea" are also very well painted, seems a shame that they have come up against such tough opposition.

Well done to both parties.

And some link for the Haile Selassie I 's flag:

http://www.tmealf.com/historic.htm

might of help.

BTW: "Lion of Judah" was the title of Abyssinia/ethiopian emperor. [You know the connection of King Solomon and Queen of Sheba]
