Blazing Saddles, the convention game
« on: November 21, 2018, 02:52:30 PM »
I have an idea for a game at my local convention, Winter War. Not sure if I have enough time to get it together for this year.

Blazing Saddles...the game?

It would be a scavenger hunt set in the sleepy little town of Rock Ridge. I figure that I will have to watch the movie several more time to get enough ideas.

The basic premise is several players, each with a scavenger list of items to find in town (things like a box of candy, a pumpkin pie, an ice cream cone, a dance hall girl, a shiny toll booth dime, etc.). As the game goes on random events would happen.

Players would be western characters, Arabs, Germans, bikers, gangsters, etc.

Does anyone know where I can find a 28mm toll booth?

We don't need no steeenking badges.
And that checkpoint could work quite nicely, maybe with some minor modifications. Thanks for point it out!

What a great idea! I think players could really get into such a game, "bean scene" excluded, of course.  ;)

Burn In Designs has a whole Rockridge line that I am pretty sure includes a tool booth.
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

Is this going to be at Enfilade, then?

Make sure that the briefing notes for the players are written in "frontier gibberish" too.  lol
Enjoying the game is ALWAYS more important than winning the game.

May I humbly suggest using a few paper standees mixed with the regular miniatures?  ;)
