Eastern Woodland Indians
« on: November 22, 2018, 07:39:10 AM »
The first set of my new 54 mm Eastern Woodlands Indians arrived and I slapped some paint on them, so that you can see the detail. Just a slop coat, so that I could get these pix taken quickly. You'll see places where I missed putting color. I plan on repainting each one carefully, later on.

I acquired the master sculpts and the rights to these figures in 1993. It took me 25 years to finally get them produced in something other than metal.
The figures were cast in resin, individually by hand. They are then cleaned up, assembled and primed. It's incredibly labor intensive just to make one figure. That's why they are vanity figures. I can only make a couple of sets for myself and a few friends

I used "Barzso" Indian colors, (red and tan)  because I will be mixing these in with my Barzso Indians. And to pay tribute to Ron, in my own small way, who certainly deserves it.

So, here is the very first set of  original Eastern Woodlands Indians. 12 poses in all.
Consideration is underway to add a few new poses to this set.
Comments or suggestions welcomed.

There a great set of figures.

As for new poses how about a non-combatant one for a canoe, possibly adapting one of the kneeling figures ?

Nice work. For the kneeling shooting pose, is that from art work or similar? I've never seen that position for shooting before.

Great figures, very full of ACTION!!!

 :D

May one inquire why you got away from casting in metal?  I've done both metal and resin, both have ups and downs.  Resin mainly because of fragility.  Plus I like the "weight" of metal!!!

Nice stuff, worth the wait!

Lucky, He was made to fit in a canoe. I put him on a base just to see if I liked the result.

I didn't. I have sets of these in metal, also.

I can see a lot of people wanting these.
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

And that makes a whole lot of sense, excellent - thanks.
