The battle of Chubley Farm
« on: December 09, 2018, 03:17:19 AM »
In a daring night raid the Royalist forces under Major Robert Forsyth in Mumfordshire try to break through the defenses of the Tadfield Workers Commune. However as luck would have it knowledge of the attack was passed along to the Commune prior to the assault giving the Communards ample opportunity to lay a trap.

The Mumforshire County police spearhead the assault backed by an armoured car, only to be repulsed by a wall of lead leaving the car in ruins and the police ducking for cover.

Elsewhere the Royalists have more luck charging into a ruined farmhouse full of Communards and savagely beating them in  hand to hand combat.

However in the end the spirited defense from the Tadfield Workers Army was too much and the Royalists were forced to quit the field with Major Forsyth likely to face a rather stern talking to from his superiors.

the rules used were Ospreys A world aflame which we found quite fun ( it seems that both sides neglected to bring much in the way of ammunition resulting in a lot of tooing and froing).

Thanks for posting, like your improvised Armoured Car, good to see others using the World Aflame Rules too!

It was something of a demo game, unfortunately not much interest in VBCW in my part of New Zealand but never the less I shall persist.
