Dutch Napoleonic 27th Jagers
« on: December 30, 2018, 06:14:29 PM »
Finished just in time for the new year. This is the Dutch 27th Jager Battalion as they wpuld have appeared during the battle of Quatre Bras in their green jackets with red trim. Yellow is commonly accepted but according to inside information, they didn't receive the new uniforms in time for the battle. I painted these with Vallejo and GW paints and used Army Painter quickshade Dark Tone. When fully dry, I brushed on some Army painter Anti Shine. Tufts are by Gamers Grass and Mininatur. Now I just need to wait for an appropriate flag and paint up the rest of the Bylandt Brigade. .... Let me know what you think!

Lovely work!
There's some very interesting new information coming out of archives about the Netherlands' army in the 100 Days campaign lately, glad to see it being put to use!

Lovely paint job, and nice to see something different than the ordinary. Also like the weathering effect it gives them a proper campaign look. The colors are also not too bright, and have a nice dulled effect with the anti-shine. These are fighting men, not parading.

Their dullness contrasts nicely with the bases. Well done.
