Good skirmish rules for Hellboy miniatures?
« on: January 03, 2019, 11:06:28 AM »
Hi folks. Wasn't sure if this is the right board to post about Hellboy, as he seems to cross genres. Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some good fast play skirmish rules that would fit the theme of Hellboy? i.e. BPRD agents vs Nazis, Cthulhu-esque monsters, and creatures from myth?

I backed the Hellboy boardgame from Mantic earlier this year, and while I'm really looking forward to playing the boardgame, I'd also like to use the many included miniatures to play skirmish battles between BPRD, Nazis, and monsters. I'm thinking there might be something from Osprey, as I've enjoyed several of their games that you can use any type of miniatures for (Frostgrave, etc). It just needs to be a system that can handle guns, magic, and monsters.

Thanks!

.45 Adventure (or Fantastic Worlds) and Pulp Alley come to mind immediately. Both are designed for just this sort of thing.

But do you still support it? Had the feeling there won’t come new stuff filling the missing...

Yep, still support it. It's been a while for new stuff, but hoping to change that this year.

+1 for .45 and Pulp Alley. Also Fear and Faith, USME and Mythos Miniatures.

7TV is fast, fun and cinematic skirmish.

In June we have a new dedicated Pulp boxed set which covers Nazis and HPL inspired horrors.
