Army Painters 2019 (AP 2019) - Compiled List of Projects
« on: January 04, 2019, 11:11:37 AM »
For a little background, here's the original thread which once was started by HerbyF proposing the idea a couple of years back:

LINK

'Army Painters' is an 'easy does it' kind of challenge. The challenge is to meet some level of painting ambition you set up for yourself each month, like 5-20 miniatures, with the ambition to muster a full army by January 1, 2020. Each person maintains their own thread and labels it starting with '(AP 2019)' so that we can find each other's project. I will update this thread with participants and a link to their specific thread as they filter in.

This year I will mainly be working on my figures for Bolt Action.  The plan is for a Panzergrenadier army and a Fallschirmjager army.  If I have the time I will also be working on a British Airborne force.

I also have tanks for both sides that need painting, they will double up for What a Tanker.

Mine will be continuing to add to my collection of Pulp gaming figures. Not an army as such (those days are largely behind me) but hopefully a reasonable collection by the end of the year. In between those, WWI early Germans for a mate, and continuing my journey into 6mm ACW.
Enjoying the game is ALWAYS more important than winning the game.

This year I'm going to try to do a 'project thread', like some of the others it won't be an 'army' per-say. In my case it's going to be Canadian Colonial Conflicts 1860's-1880's. Broad scope because I have some Perry BIF which will probably end up fighting Fenians, but the North West Rebellion of 1885  (and some possible what-if's around it sparking a larger tribal uprising) are what I really want to focus on....

Do all the figures for each month have to be painted entirely in the month/this year? I only ask as I am slowly grinding through a unit of 18 Canadian Militia which are 3/4's done now lol

Early in 2018 I finished my AP 2017 but never actually started anything in 2018.  I think I will pop back in for AP 2019.  My two largest started but unfinished armies from ages past would be my Skaven and Sudan forces (Egyptian, English, Scottish).  I need to decide which to attempt to resurrect.

Edit:  I think I will bring back the Egyptian Sudan force.

Be nice to do something other than Copplestone Chinese this time around.  lol

I'm in.

I have some Artizan Arab types and some Spectre MENA/insurgent fighters.

So a definite Middle Eastern vibe.
Yearly painting challenges only show me how useless I am at painting...

I have a plan for 2019, but its kinda this and that. I'm finishing two Dark Age armies (Vikings and Anglo-Saxons), completing Early Germans and adding 48 points of Dacians for Triumph, and also painting a unit a month of WFB minis to make some progress on my Four Army Project that is still incomplete.

With a mess of painting like that can I get in?

Assuming just anyone can participate I think this would be good motivation for me to get my Dark Ages Normans done in a timely manner, as they are project #1 for 2019. I guess I'll have to make a thread in the next couple of days as time permits.
