Fu Manchu in 28mm What options are there?
« on: January 09, 2019, 09:52:57 AM »
I'm interested to know what options are out there for "The Devil Doctor" Fu Manchu or  suitable Tong leader types in 28mm?

I am aware of the Pulp Miniatures Dr Koo and Westwind Miniatures figure in their Empire of the Dead range and the old Grenadier Miniatures version from the old Call of Cthulhu line. I know about  various leader figures from Historical ranges such as Foundry and others doing Taiping?Boxer Wars ranges.

Any other Pulp or VSF versions?

Do Reaper Miniatures produce one?

Check out Xiang Lung, Chinese Villain, over at Reaper's site. He even has the monkey that was sometimes described as Fu Manchu's pet.

VSF? Hydra's Retro Raygun line has a special release figure Xurr the Exalted. Not sure if he was intended to be a Ming the Merciless type or not.

Heroclix Mandarin miniatures could work. They're on the larger size of 28mm, but super cheap on the secondary market.

He is indeed lovely, just wish he had a Mandarin hat, then he would be perfect lol

I'm generally beyond awful when it comes to things like this, but it probably wouldn't be too hard to sculpt with a little green stuff - if the rest of the figure appeals, that is.   :)

Yep, I’m capable, but also lazy lol

He’s certainly worth the effort. I’ll probably order him tomorrow if no others appear in the meantime.
