Author Topic: Anyone tried to convert a Solido Sdkfz 251 with a Rubicon Stummel?  (Read 643 times)

I have a number of Solido Sdkfz 251/1 and consider to convert some of them into Stummels. I know that Solido is 1/50 while Rubicon is 1/56 but maybe it is possible to do some tweaking. Rubicon is £10 for two guns so good value compared to Gasoline...

Grateful for any comments or advice!

I have not, but I suspect it will look a bit odd.

This is what I suspect is actually a 1/56 scale twin 23mm cannon on a 1/48 scale light APC (Empress Zsu23-2 and HLBSCo BMD).

It does look extremely weedy.

Your 75mm gun would work out at about 66mm.

1/50 scale Empress jeep and 1/56 scale Warlord and Rubicon jeeps.

William Killian on a 25mm base for scale.

I hope you find this useful.

No, I haven’t but I agree, I suspect it would look a little odd. Probably more doable if you only intend to use the gun, not the superstructure additions. Of course if you are building up the body with plasticard and just using the gun, you might as well go the whole hog and build the gun with plastic tubing and rod. Almost certainly cheaper.

Here are the Rubicon instructions to use as a guide:

Thanks for your comments!

Seems not to be the best route then...anyone knows any other possible upgrade of a Solido Sdkfz 251?
